My sons kindergarten has a lovely hatching program to teach them about lifecycles. There were 18 chicks in total this time, and we adopted 2 of them.
The largest one is 4 days older (born 8th May 2014) and the slightly smaller one was born on the 12th of May 2014.
I am eager to find out what sexes I have as I love them both dearly (lovely little personalities) but as I live in a residential area, we are not allowed to have roosters. In this case, I want to begin arrangements for (hopefully none of them) for a lovely home should one or both be roosters.
What breed do you think they are? and what sexes do you think they are. All information is greatly appreciated. Thank
The one up close is Fluffy 2(My children named them :D ) and the one in the background is Fluffy 1

Fluffy 2 on the left, and Fluffy 1 on the right

Fluffy 2 Left and Fluffy 2 right

I am not good at this game, but I would guess white Leghorns. They would have hatched from white eggs.

Sorry, but I think they're both roosters. Likely Leghorns.

Thank you all for your replies. Very sad that they are roosters, but I will now start finding them a home :) thanking you kindly. Can I just ask what gave away that they are roosters?

Thank you all for your replies. I believe these are White leghorns, as the only other breeds that they dealt with were Australorp, New Hampshire
Sussex, Black and White Leghorn, and Lohmanns. As far as their combs, I don't know if this makes a difference, but the one on the Left (the slightly larger one) is about 2-3 days older than the one on the right (who is slightly smaller) The one on the right has had a comb for quite some time, but growth has stopped (despite being smaller). The one on the left didn't have a comb for a long time, and only just grew one within the last week or so. Both of them do not have red combs, the picture is not a good indication, as I have a light bulb in there which is throwing off the colour. Their combs are in fact a flesh colour. Does this change things at all?
Thanks
Below is a pic of them at 5 weeks depicting the different size in combs.

Hi there, I'm still guessing roosters. Sorry! I know that must be disappointing! In my experience with leghorns, the hens do no develop a comb until much later. The rooster combs shoot up quickly and will soon turn red. Their sisters will only have the slightest hint of a comb at this age. Good luck finding homes!!
