Got home today around 4:30 pm and went to collect the daily gifts from my girls. Much to surprise I found this little tiny egg in one of the nesting boxes amongst 5 other eggs. My youngest hens started laying last fall. ( no pullets here).
The egg is perfect in shape. A very nice hard shell like the rest. Any ideas how are why this can happen from mature hens? When I first looked in the nesting cabinet I thought someone was screwing with me and stuck a moth ball in there. It is a bonified egg.
What gives?
