Completely new chick owner

I'd hang on to the pine shavings - after a couple of weeks, your chicks will be used to eating their food and the pine will work great. For the first couple weeks I used pine shavings with paper towels over them, but it would have worked just as well leaving out the pine. It wasn't long before they figured out how to pull the paper towels back and get into the bedding anyway.

I changed the paper towels frequently - twice a day - morning and before bed. Now that they are 4 weeks old, I change their pine bedding once a week.

Okie dokie. Hehe and I changed their names. The black one is Spud, and the other one is Fluff. My brothers named Fluff lol!

My stupid dog killed Ritz!!! AUGH!!!

I was opening the door in the coop, and he ran through my legs and grabbed Ritz and wouldn't let go for a few minutes.
