Compost Feathers?

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but, what do you do with the feathers?

I thought I had a great little eco-system figured out - have the birds eat the bugs plaguing my garden, compost the manure and bedding to fertilize the garden, and have eggs to eat!

Now that I have the chickens and they're now losing feathers, what do I do with them? Are they good material for compost? Aren't they mostly protein? What do you do with the feathers?

Just leave them be. Nature has its own way of recycling

They would not hurt the compost any. It's better than having rats eat them.

I compst some with the manure when i clean out the coop. I have also noticed sparrows cleaning up any feathers that are in the yard and take them to their nests.
