Compost

Is there a compost thread? I feel overrun by manure--we have goats, who spend a good part of their day in the barn all winter long (and its a long winter here), where we've use the deep bedding method with straw for the past 2 winters, and now we have chickens and we plan to use pine shavings, at least for the time being. We have 20 acres, so we spread the goat manure out, but its likely to burn that area b/c the high nitrogen content this year and the thought of doing that every year makes me worry we'll have lots of burned area. Anyway, I'm interested in composting it but wondering what I need to do. Thanks!
