Composting tips needed!

I put in my coffee grounds and filters and it seems to balance out the chicken poop and pine shavings.

Unfortunately my compost bin is on hold until warmer weather, but come spring I think it will be able to go right into my raised beds. Fingers crossed.

Also if your compost is in the run with the chickens, do you even need to turn it yourself? Just curious, still learning myself.

If it's really low and flat, they can handle it, but there is no way a chicken is going to turn a 3 foot deep pile. but if you keep the pile smaller, they can likely turn it ok.

Also in the mornings on cold days I like to at least break it up some to break any ice or anything
