Composting your chicken manure

I’m wondering how people compost their chicken manure. I have a composter but it is close to the neighbors side of my lot. I’m wondering how bad it’s gonna smell before I get started with that. Also wondering if the manure will act as it’s own accelerator or do I need to add something? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have 2 large compost piles. 1 is being added to while the other ages for a year. I dump everything in it and rarely turn anything. I really don’t notice much smell. It makes wonderful stuff for my garden. I do deep litter so especially in the winter it gets a lot of pine shavings and chicken poop. The piles are walled in and the chickens have access.
