How does one rewire a computer fan to circulate air in the bator . I've seen people use it befor jsut dont know how they get it to run. Also u know those hand held fans like the ones u get on disney soemone was telling me they wired it so that ir ran and had a plug tpo supply circulation how did they do it ??

The computer fan should already have wires. So you just get a charger, like a cellphone charger and you wire them together. Connect red to red, black to black and then wrap it with either wire caps or electrical tape. (you'll have to scrape off the wire coating to expose the wires in order to connect them) The you will have the fan on one end and a plug on the other. You plug it is and viola! You have a running fan!

I am sure someone will come along and explain it better but that is the basics!

Sometimes, the fan has 3 wires. One of them is for ground/trip or something, I don't really know or care. The other two is a hot and neutral line. Those are the two you need. On the computer fan, there should be a tiny sticker stating the voltage of the fan. Find a old transformer or cell phone charger with similar output voltage and cut it. Strip the plastic/rubber covering and twist the hot wire of the charger/transformer and computer fan together. Repeat with the neutral. Sometimes it's hard to tell which one is which. Do trial and error and when the fan runs, you've got it right. MAKE SURE THE OUTPUT IS NOT 110V or 120V. This can shock you. With a cell phone charger or transformer with much lower output, you wont' experience electrical shock.

first you need a 12v adaptor ( cell phone charger or cordless phone adapter make sure its 12 volts it will say it on the back)

There should be three wires red black and yellow... disregaurd the yellow wire it controls the speed of the fan and since you wont need the fan to be variable speed this wire is not necessary.

strp the red and black wires on the fan.

cut the end off the 12v adaptor (the side that would go into your phone) and strip the two wires

connect the two wires on the adaptor to the two wires on the fan. plug in and see if it work, if it doesnt ,try switching the wires.

hope this helps if you have any questions feel free to pm me

good luck

Yellow is the Tachometer wire. It tells the PC that the fan is working so no you dont need it.

The power plug you use should say Output 12V DC

It must say output __ V DC. It can be anything from 6V DC to something like 18V DC but the closer to 12 V the better. Lower means slower an higher means faster.
