Okay so I'm set to become the Rep Payee for my Uncle.

Uncle will soon be going to Oklahoma. Me still being in Texas means I won't be able to go to any stores with him.

He wants to purchase a computer.

So... can anyone recommend a site where I could purchase a ready to go computer and have it shipped to Oklahoma?

Info on brands, sizes, etc also welcome. Any advice appreciated.

If you can build your own computer www.tigerdirect.com or newegg.com

If you want a name brand computer I would suggest sony first then dell. do not get a hp there custom support is the worst. Dell is not the best eather but they are a lot better than hps.

I really suggest building your own though so you don't need to wory about getting a bad computer and not being able to return your money (happened to me)

Yeah WE are build your own folks. Took me two months and a lot of hunting but got all the components for DH to build the one I'm currently typing on... very nice. Now it's my turn so to speak so for mine yeah, build. But Uncle is NOT a DIY when it comes to puters... home stuff yes, hard drive no. So not much choice but to try and find a ready to go system... bummer since you get so much less for your money but there it is.

Okay, just off the phone. Uncle plans to buy computer here and then take up to with him to OK.
So, online is NO longer an issue, phew...

Now it'll be here in town instead... choices choices... Frys, Best Buy, Office Despot, Staples, Walmart, CompUSA....

And what to get?!?! For his general use, internet, etc... but also so his boys can play...
Thinking maybe I should just check the System Requirements for WoW and go with that?
Can you think of any program or game that needs any more than that never ending madness?
Doubt his boys play WoW, but it seems a pretty safe bet whatever they do like couldn't possibly be more demanding than that.

Whatta you guys think? Decent plan?
