A mysterious little red hen decided to adopt our family (a very cute true story)

Well just tell him the truth. Chickens are flock animals. And she'll be very, very sad and lonely to be without any of her own kind. And you have to get at least two more hens in case something happens to one of them, then there will always be two together. A "lonely only" is to be avoided at all costs.

Really???? No way, that's so awesome!! 😁 Little did we know that while we were going about our daily lives, a little chicken was quiety watching us from afar before deciding 'That human right there, that's the one for me.' 🐔🥰🥰🥰🥰
yep! 2 of my neighbours chickens went rogue and moved into my back garden in january. i had never met a chicken before. i thought they were just visiting, but they were there every day. in march, the neighbour said to keep them. so here they are.

i literally did not have a clue about what to do with them. i got a lot of advice here on this site (thank goodness). some advices were better than others.
maybe since you already have ducks, you might find it easier than i did. lol!

2 is difficult because they do not like to be alone. so if one is having a problem or laying an egg, the other is not happy. so having one would be tough.
i wonder though, if she’s ok with your ducks as company? i am not a person who would know any answers. but i am learning they have their own personalities and they are always surprising me.

(this reply is going to give @tlcmurphy and @RoyalChick expectations of me but i am not afraid of them. 😂)

Here she is ❤️🐔😊

Last Monday when I went to feed my ducks breakfast like usual, I was very surprised to find a petite little red hen in there chilling with my ducks. I thought maybe she was a surprise from my boyfriend, but he said no and sounded as surprised as I was.

How this adorable little chicken found us is a mystery, but wherever she came from she must have seen my ducks and thought 'These guys have it good, I want in!' and hopped into the fence 🥰🐔.

And so I was adoped by a little red hen. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? 😊
It was meant to be! 😊
