I processed a few of my Cornish X today. One of them had a liver that looked different...

It looked like it had been chewed up. The color was normal and there were no white spots on it.

Should I be concerned and what would cause this to happen?

I have seen this before in a store bought chicken.

If I am not mistaken, that is a common reaction to a diet high in corn and soy. It happens to people too...in humans it is called Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.

It is done on purpose to ducks and geese to make fras grois.

To prevent it, make sure they have access to plenty of greens.

You Are Good!!!!!! Thank You....Thank You... and Thank You Again.... That's It!!!!!!!

I had to resort to feeding them corn because of circumstances beyond my control.... it was only 3 days.....They also ate bugs grass etc...There now back on there feed.

I am so relieved....
