I have 41 new peeps, and all but one are doing fine. This one little one has some funny feet, and she keeps getting poo crusted up on her vent. She cheeps ALL time, and she is much smaller than all the others. What can I do to help her? She almost looks like "failure to thrive" she is so far behind the others. I am keeping her with one other that does not have feathers yet-although quite a bit bigger , and they seem quite content to stay together. The other concern is the fact that she will NOT be quiet. I don't know if she is in pain, or what, and I just am very scared for her.....any guesses as to what I can do for her???

Wash the poo off with warm water and pat her dry. That will help.

What temperature is the brooder? Is she able to move from under the heat source to a cooler spot and back when she needs to?

Good luck with your babies.

can't get a pic tonight, and not quite sure how to do it,... but her feet are very long toed with big bumps at the ends and then they are not flat in the middle, but very bulbous...short short legs, but long long toes will try for a pic tomorrow...we just had some people drop off 4 baby coonies with no mamma. My plate is rather full with feeding every 2 hrs., and 41 peeps, 3 dogs, I cat and a hubby...

yes, she can get away from heat source when she wants/needs to. Has plenty of clean water, and feed/grow crumbles. She has not eaten anything other than crumbles, so I just can't figure out why whe is having such problems with her poo...but will keep washing off and patting dry and hopefully we can all figure this out... thanks and let me know ps brooder is at 75 daytime and inside house..now she is 3 weeks + old.
