Concerned about one of my chickens?

Have an update. We went to the feed store today, and all they had was one teeny tiny bottle of goat wormer for $30. The people there had never even heard of Corid or Safeguard horse paste. I'm discouraged because the feed store and vets are so useless! My next plan is to call a friend who has cows and see if he has any of the medications. If he doesn't have any of them, I will order them on the internet and hope she doesn't die before they get here.

If the goat wormer looked like this above, that is a good one. Dose is 1/2 ml of either the paste or liquid. Corid is a cattle medicine--also called amprollium--I can't believe that a farm store doesn't have that. Did you ask if they any meds for coccidiosis?

Ok, so I found out that there was a Tractor Supply a few towns over that I had previously forgotten about. We went there and they had the Corid and the Safeguard Dewormer tube. How much of the dewormer should I put on her?

I would do .5ml per 2.2 pounds by mouth once and repeat in ten days. Liquid or paste, it's the same amount.

Hi, I am assuming that you are actually from New Hampshire based on your signon name... the Weare Animal Hospital does treat poultry as well as exotics. It is 75.00 just to bring the chicken in to be seen, then add on whatever else needs to be done.

not sure my first attempt at replying went through..... I am assuming you are in New Hampshire, if you are the Weare Animal Hospital does see chickens... I took one in and the fee just to look at the chicken was 75.00.
