Blues is our beautiful 1.5 year old Swedish duck. She is small and kind. My family went out of town for the weekend only to come home and notice this large cyst or tumor hanging from her back end.
Other than it dragging around she isn’t acting differently. She’s eating and digesting food regularly.
My husband thinks we are going to have to put her down and I am not good at playing God.
if anybody has any information on what this may be or any advice on how to properly get rid of or remove it please let me know.
It is located under her tail to the left of her vent almost on her underbelly.
The mass or growth is rather larger. It is hard and squishy (I know awkward). It’s hanging and does not seem to be painful. I know it must be aggravating though.

The last photo is her between my Pekin pair. She is smaller in size to them.

Thank you for your time, guidance, and help.

She needs a vet asap. Tumors can have a very large blood supply and if you try to treat this at home you could kill her. Go to an avian vet or farm vet. Hope she gets better soon.

Unfortunately this is something that would need a vets experience to properly diagnosed. That would have to be surgically remove. I’m sorry.

Thank you, unfortunately my local vet does not see farm animals or birds.
I tried doing a video chat with a vet over my phone yesterday and he never responded back to me.
My husband said we will probably have to put her down. It breaks my heart.

Wow, that looks a lot like what I just dealt with… with an unfortunate outcome. I hope your feather baby fared better than mine! 💌
