I have a 9' 10" x 9' 10" concrete pad i am thinking of building a coop on.
All the coops i have seen have dirt floors.
is concrete bad for chicken feet?
do i need a subfloor? (this would provide some insulation room)

I have concrete - so easy to keep clean. In the winter I bed it very deep with shavings - on the lighter side in the summer months - no predators here!

You're super-lucky to have a large pad like that to build your coop on. If I were building on it though, I'd plan some way to remove excess water, e.g., rain coming in through an unclosed window during a storm or if I wanted to hose down the inside.

Mine is concrete also, I put down two big bags of pine shavings and works great.... Easy to clean also.

Sure, concrete is an EXCELLENT coop floor. Just make sure you put sufficient bedding on it.

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

We have a large variety of possible predators here,
Coyotes, hawks, wild dogs, rumors of mountain lions...
So I am going to make it very secure..
plans are still in my head

Thats exactly what I did. We have a pad from a garage that burn down before we moved here. Can't build another garage on it, so we put the coop on one corner. My biggest complaint is that it isn't nice and level, and when it rains, it seeps under the walls and gets my bedding wet. grrr. I'm planning on trying to seal it a little to see if that helps. I've just been lazy tho!

Yup, concrete is awesome.
plan for a drain
I did but the pad wasn't as level as the contractor promised so the water pooled in the wrong area, had to shop vac it out
mine is a combo covered coop/run with concrete pad and 4 inches deep of pine shavings with DE
it's been perfect and very secure.
