I have too many chickens to remember if I've seen this one on the nest. I kinda thought she was laying a greenish egg but could've been the all-white Harriet gal who's also skinny like Gladys.Has there been eggs in the past from this one? I know that roo behavior can develop in some hens over time for various reasons, but they still genetically are hens.
I can try. She's feisty. Maybe inside the pen.Any chance you can get side photos of her? From that angle she looks female though perhaps a closer side angle might be different for the white feathers.
I've never had a rooster that didn't crow! No long tail feathers on Gladys either.I agree female. My EE roo has a much bigger redder comb than that and huge spurs and big droopy tail feathers and he’s only just over a year old.
That bird looks like a cockerel to me, but it may be the light making the shoulders look suspiciously "not laced".The Wyandotte pullet on the right has rounded tail feathers like I'm seeing on this presumed girl.
