Confession

They may want to jump on your shoulder to be close. My 2 month old brahma sweetheart did this. She wanted me to hold her. If you handle them while their young, they turn into really nice birds when grown. My chicks are huge sweethearts, all of them. I wouldn't keep a mean one around, ever. I researched before buying the breeds and chose all docile ones that are good around children.

When I sit with them in their coop, they jump in my lap and fall asleep also.

I understand what your saying.. I don't have a fear per say but mine just came home last night ( they are 3 weeks old ) and let's just say it's a completely new experience and the flying up when I open their home to clean it or feed them or hold them will take getting used to. I just cleaned their space about an hour ago and they all went nuts flying up when I had them in my hands they cried like they didn't want to be up..so I sang to them HAHA to try and get them used to my voice. I think it's just a " new " feeling and anything new takes time to adjust to and I would think that they could possibly peek our eyes if we allowed them very close but I don't think they aim to do it unless they are up and left close to the face.
