Confirm Breed

We are not possitive what breed this is. We think Black Austrolop?? The other is Buff Orpinton(sp?).

This one a little more difficult. Is this a RIR or a New Hampshire Red?

hmmm, I would gander either Black Australorp:

here are a couple of my girls, check the bottom of the feet, if they are pink, BA, if they are yellow, Jersey Giant

and I have a Production Red (as I was told) that looks like yours:

so those are my guesses....!

yeah, production red is the likely case, definitely not NH or heritage RIR

Also, New Hampshire is the breed, no Red in the name.

Your dark burgandy hen with the black tail feathers looks like a Buckeye(not RIR or NH! I have a buckeye and that's what she looks like, she's getting darker as she gets older. She should be a mahogany color eventually.

what kind of comb does your red one have? If it is single, I still say Production Red, a Buckeye has a pea comb, and is extremely rare
