Hey y’all! Thanks for all the help y’all have given me every time I’ve posted my first batch! Y’all helped me to identify their breeds and any early cockerels. I rehomed my early bloomer cockerel to a nice couple in my town that has an identical hen that they wanted him to breed to. I have been watching this batch closely as they moved into their coop and my second batch grows in the brooder. I am having a tough time with choosing what bird I want keep as my eventual rooster. I am kind of hoping one of my two silkies ends up as a male. I have my own guesses and the previous guesses that y’all gave me on genders for these birds. I am hoping to get so,e finalized answers as to genders. I fully realize that even if it looks 100% pullet now, it could always end up being a cockerel and vice versa.

What are y’alls’ gender guesses on these 6-8 week old chicks?

Chick #1: White Silkie (hatchery bred) I’m guessing pullet

Thank you everyone! As a side note - Do any of you awesome people have any advice for choosing what you keep as your rooster? I’ve got some babies in the brooder that are silkies, seabrights, and one that I’m not 100% on with a rose comb.
