Confirm these are polish Roos?

14.5 weeks old. No crowing but already molting. All my other Roos crowed by ten weeks. I'm thinking they are boys, but just in case I'm wrong...could they look more like a hen after their molting??? They are getting new feathers all over their bodies and heads.

Both have long, thin, pointed male saddle feathers. They are male, without a doubt.

I thought the same. But this crazy molting and no crowing at almost 15 weeks was throwing me. Besides, their poofs look nothing like a girls either.

They are both cockerels. Cockerels usually begin crowing from 4-5 months. However some of them take considerably longer and an occasional cockerel can take nearly a year before it begins crowing.

Cockerels, polish roos have wild rock star crests - the girls have a nice rounded bouffant style(boy does that date me) If you have an alpha roo, younger roos will not usually crow . Probably trying to avoid a thrashing.

That's what I thought. Out of all my birds, these two are molting completely, no crowing, and are just so sweet! It's okay though, I have homes for both of them near me, and I can visit them.

I think I'm finally down to my backyard flock of pullets (four). Woo hoo! One girl is laying, one girl is practicing, and the other two will be in a month or so more.
