Confused Broody Hen

My Blue silklie- bless her heart- is confused. The girl thinks she's broody, but she's not sitting on any eggs. Several times I've gone to see her and she's been sitting on the perch and if I touch or go near her, she puffs up and makes those broody noises. And when she's walking around the yard, she makes that distinct broody cluck.
There are eggs in the nest box.... why isn't she sitting on them? Will she eventually?

If she started this behavior recently, she is probably in the pre-broody phase. Are the eggs in a nest box that she usually lays in? If not, try moving them to her normal laying site.

Yes, they are. The other day she was actually sitting on them in the box and acting broody, but that only lasted about 5 minutes.

She's broody now! She slept on the eggs last night.
When you come near or touch her, she sounds like a dinosaur!
