Confused, heartbroken, Mad.

I am so disheartened right now. I ordered a large order from a local hatchery. Out of that order now 2/3 are dead. 1/2 died in one night approximately 2 weeks after I ordered them. I am checking those chicks several times a day and healthy ones are suddenly dead. Last night 4 of my five ducks were also suddenly dead. The ducks are in the house in a broader the temp is fine, they are eating game food, and fresh water. I change their liter daily since they get so wet. The chicks have been on medicated feed in a giant brooder with plenty of space to get warm or cool off in an insulated chicken coop with no drafts and given room temp water. I have ordered corid because I know cocidiosis is a nightmare and sadly ourbfeed supply doesnt carry it and of course shipping is taking forever. I shouldnhave had it overnighted! To add to my confusion is that I have hatched chicks at the same time and kept them in the same building but separate and they are showing no health problems whatsoever. They are as healthy as can be. What could it be!? Please help!

Whenever chicks start dying,the first thing to look at is Coccidiosis,feed,and heat lamps/brackets/etc.(check to make sure they contain no teflon as it is toxic to birds).

Medicated feed will do nothing for a cocci overload/outbreak.

What is temp in brooder?

My first guess is coccidiosis,start treatment ASAP.

I would also be contacting the hatchery to see if there have been any other reports of problems.

I have bought the feed from a farm store and swore I would never do it again, I have never been happy with it. And I have had just as much luck not using medicated. I chose to use it this time since I had such a large shipment. I checked the lamps before I purchased to make sure there was no teflon. Brooder temp is good, lowering 5 degrees a week. Like I mentioned I have other chicks in same building but seperate. I have not been overly cautious about cross contamination because I assumed both were healthy, but I guess it's possible they haven't had any contact with concidiosis, and that's why they are doing fine. I have had chickens for years and never had this problem, however we did buy a new farm this year and it's possible it was in the ground here and I had no clue. But, as mentioned by pp I feel it has to be cocidiosis since the sudden loss. I'm just mad and sick, and headed to get corid from the vet.
