We started to clean it out. this has a roof on it which is made of tin should that be replaced also and if so with what?
Is there something wrong with the tin? If it's not leaking or really rusty, I'd let it be. If you have to replace it - there are lots of options. More tin. That corrugated stuff comes in lots of materials - plastic, metal. You could always go with plywood and shingles. I'm sure there's more options but those are all I can think of right now.
behind the blocks is a wooden frame that goes all the way around i was wanting to redo the chicken wire with hardware cloth but not sure how to do the back of the walls that are tin and ideas?
Do you mean those blocks on the ground??? If there's tin walls - again, if it's in decent shape keep it. If you have to tear the tin off for some reason, then you can just stretch the wire mesh between the posts that the tin is attached to. Could really use more picts to understand what you're looking at.
This is attached to an old barn we cleaned it out already it was about 4 ft high with old wood and trash. Any ideas or links to plans would be helpful at the time its just me and three kids (10yr, 3yr, 18m) Hubby is in our last duty station until movers can pick up our house hold things plus he is in the start of chemo treatments. So i will have to tackle this on my own.
If you saved any of that old wood, you'll probably be able to use it again somewhere in the coop. There are dozens of really great coop ideas on the 'COOPS' tab. They range from beautiful little custom built doll houses to functional, sturdy & safe 'no frills' coops.
I've been following a couple of other 'shed into coop' threads and I'll post links when I find them.
Best of luck to you. This will be an adventure for you and the kids this summer.![]()
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
