I have a problem with my rooster, he's maybe a year old and yesterday he was fine and today I went and fed them and he's staggering and putting he's wing down to try to stedy himself then he'll sit for abit and try again, normally the hens stick to him like glue but now when he makes his way there way they scatter, can not see no marks and it's not like something got in cause there ain't feathers all over the place, food & water look fine, there waste doesn't like to bad, I don't know, any ideas on what's wrong with my boy.:(

He sounds like he is doing what I call a rooster's "Man dance". They do this usually before they mate - which is probably why your hens are scattering. The rooster puts down his wing and kinda does a a little hop-dance in a circle around the hen. It makes it look like their drunk.

Could be leg issues, check for a slipped tendon, run your thumbs down back of leg from hock(where leg joins body)to shank(scales start)press down while doing this,if tendon has slipped it will feel loose/springy when pressing down you should feel it snap back into place(compare to other leg). This may have to be done several times a day until healed, takes anywhere from 2-3 weeks(i have treated this in an adult rooster)

Check for any swelling, feel up and down leg for a possible fracture although not all fractures can be felt or could be a sprain. Using wings for balance is common with leg injuries.

Lastly it could also be Marek's,but before you start to think it is Marek's,check for all the injuries i have mentioned.

Thank you for the info guy's, I'm vary new at this game so all information is welcome, thanks again.

WOW, I really thought that I was going to find my rooster dead today by the way he was acting yesterday but he seems to be doing a little better today, tks again for the ppl who gave me some advice, and again i'm new, can anyone make out the picture of him and make out the breed, they were all brought to me by a third hand and I didn't get to meet the breeder they came from, third hand called them banties, is that supposed to be bantom? Not sure like I said before i'm new at this game. There a small breed, there eggs are like, light tan, for me hard to tell but lighter than the brown eggs you see in the markets, small to med eggs, any ideas.???:)
