Confused!

I bought my chicks at the end of February from TSC. The other day we were cleaning around the house and found a chicken egg (small like their first egg) in my nephews play house, I have all Brown Egg layers except for my Leghorn(had to be hers). I didn't think they were old enough to lay. I haven't found another egg yet. Any suggestions. They will be 18 weeks in August.

If you purchased your chicks in Feb. then your chicks are at least 16 weeks old now. One of your girls has started laying. Was the egg brown? CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I got them Feb 22. The eggs was white.

If you count it up on a calender Sat. will be 17 weeks from Feb. 22. I would assume they were a week or so old when you purchased them. Time Flies!!! Your girls are probably 18 weeks already. Some breeds start laying earlier than others. Leghorns are prolific layers of white eggs, so yes I would say it was your leghorn.
