Scalped pullet

Help the big girls cornered one of our pullets and scalped her and we can see two or three of her vertebrae exposed she’s drinking Gatorade but won’t eat and it’s really nasty looking. Is it mean to try to keep her alive? I’m wondering if she will recover.

Such wounds can heal, but they take time. It will be necessary to separate her, apply antibiotic ointment, and make sure flies do not lay eggs on her wound.

Such wounds have to heal from the outside inwards so it can take quite a while.
