I have three pet roosters who do this. Apparently, they think I'm part of the flock...? I've never been sure if it's flattering or if they are very confused about what species I am.

I don't think spur size matters to the hens.

Fun fact though! Did you know if the rooster spurs are an inch or over, that can tell you whether they are a year or more old!

I'm going to have to disagree with this. I have a rooster that is 1 1/2 and his spurs are just tiny little nubs.

Though one of my hens, Banshee, got a nasty cut on her thigh from when my rooster mounted her and missed. (That was the consensus on here when I posted with photos asking what would have caused it.)

I agree! I was in search of a roo, but when someone says hen, I want a hen, not a disguised rooster. Guess some of it is my fault but I thought it would have more streamers and comb!
