I received 27 Peking duck eggs earlier today and while doing some research about misting I keep running into some contradicting information. I have a forced air fan incubator that I manually turn 4/5 times in a 24 day cycle, I was planning on beginning the misting process April 16 (after 6 days of incubation) and misting them once a day. While watching someone incubating their own duck eggs I noticed they set them out to dry? and others did not use a spray bottle, they used a wet sponge instead.

TLDR questions:

When should I begin misting the eggs?
How many times per day should I mist the eggs?
Am I suppose to let the eggs dry after misting?
Am I suppose to use a sponge instead of a spray bottle?
Should I let them cool down after misting?

Thanks!

Holderread says start at seven days for duck eggs.
How many times per day should I mist the eggs?
Once a day.
Am I suppose to let the eggs dry after misting?
I mist them in the incubator then close it right back up. They'll dry on their own.
Am I suppose to use a sponge instead of a spray bottle?
You can mist or sprinkle. I would not daub with a sponge. You might damage the eggs' bloom (protective coating).
Should I let them cool down after misting?
Mist with lukewarm water (about 100°). This cools the eggs by evaporation as they begin to dry, even though you've closed the incubator.

First off, you'll want to turn an odd number of times so 3 or 5 , you don't want the yolk resting on the same side of the egg repeatedly every night. I choose not to spray my eggs only because its less work for me to do, and studies show spraying only slightly increases hatch rates. If you do choose to spray @CindyinSD gave you great advice.

I love the spraying part! It gives me a good excuse to candle them every night. :lau (Also I need to move them around the incubator since my Incuvues (much as I love them) are pretty uneven as to heating.)
