My feed store has chicks year round, and I had to pick up feed today. Temptation every time I go in. In the the second bantam bin they had guys about four weeks old, white frizzle cochin and a blue cochin...picked them up, held them and pass...oh well, they looked like roos anyway. Ducklings, cute but they were wet and messy so they were easy to go by. But then, I saw the older BR pullet babies, almost fully feathered, stood there, chatted with the man next to me and passed again. My dh better appreciate how good I was. However, I've got eggs on order for next week so in about 4 weeks I should have a brooder running. So, think I can pass a barred rock chick off as a RIR or a buff orp???

Dang, but its sometimes hard to be a good girl.

You sure have a lot more self-restraint than I have!!! However, if you're looking for support for not getting chickens, this isn't the place to look!!!! LOL!!!! I'm pretty sure you need that BR pullet. . . . . the poor thing will probably be homeless for the holidays, or even worse, someone will buy her to eat for Christmas dinner!!! (Are you on your way back to the feed store yet?)

Yep...more willpower than me too! Because I guarantee you if our feed store ever gets frizzles I will be loading up!!! You should reward yourself for having so much willpower by going back and getting the BR!
