Perhaps I shall come to you for poultry advice. That is so awesome! I knew nothing of poultry when I was your age. When I finally get my Splash where I want them I promise I will give you good deals so you can continue to have great birds!

Thanks Tammy for the congrats! I'll try to give a rundown on what the national competition consists of. The National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference has different events such as Avian Bowl, Poultry Judging, Chicken and Turkey BBQ, and Egg Preparation & Demonstration. This past summer contestants competed at state levels to win their chance to go to nationals.
I was in the Avian Bowl competition and basically its jeopardy about chicken knowledge. We had a book to study and went against the best 11 states in the nation. The Avian Bowl was based on a buzzer system and you buzzed in when you knew the answer.
We got eliminated by California (took 1st place) and Minnesota (took 2nd place) so I thought we did pretty well! I hardly studied at all!!!!

Nope the turkeys were already processed for the bbq contestants.
The judges did have to go buy new turkey carasses because the company shipped them somewhere along the east coast! So the judges had a late night shopping spree at the local Kroger!
