I would like to know if there can be any Cons or negative things with keeping only white homer females. I feel a bit uneasy about getting both male and female white homers because I once met a person that started out with a pair of pigeons and she said that after a few years that pair multiplied into about 60 pigeons and she said it was over the top. That is why I would feel a little safer in getting only female homers. please reply

White birds are easier for hawks to see, no other problems I can think of. Are you going to fly them or are they coop/aairy only pets?

Oh and you can switch eggs with marbles if you do get a male, let them set on those for 18-20 days

I am not going to use them for racing if that's what you mean. Its only a hobby. I am going to keep them in a coop that is 4x4 feet and planned to let them out. Now if I get them as young babies (not days old) maybe a few weeks old. Do you think that they will be more docile and probably have a better chance in coming back to the coop as being compared to getting them as adults?

To be flown is to have been taken out of their home coop or aviary and allowed to fly around.

A flown bird is 'homed' to the aviary they flew around and will have to be 're-set' not all birds 're-set'.

If your going to let them free fly they will get picked off by hawks. I would look at getting a few pairs and letting them hatch eggs when you want more.

There are a couple of stray cats in my area. Can this affect the white homers that I may want to get. I would be keeping them on my balcony which is quite spacious. I am just worried about them multiplying up to a point where there is no longer space in the coop. Can you have both male and female and some how control the number of chicks born each year to a smaller number?

IF YOU START WITH JUST ONE SEX THERE IS THE POSSIBLTIES THEY JOIN ANOTHER WHILE FREE FLYING AND LEAVE OR THEY BRING THERE MATE TO YOUR PLACE WITH WHITE HOMERS OR ANY HOMER AT THWT EARLY AGE HOW COULD ONE NO THE SEXS .

Get pairs...you can buy wood eggs to replace their eggs.
Best to only let a pr. Raise 3 sets a yearReal good white homers sell good.so surplus birds sell easy. Plus you will lose some.
