considering a giant window as the entire side of my new coop, any concerns with doing this??

So I am in the process of building my first coop and I just saw someone giving away for free a dual pane 5x6 window that slides open and I was considering making it the entire side of one of my walls. I know I would need to intergrade a hardware cloth screen to make sure its predator proof, other than that is there any draw backs to doing this? I live in the Bay Area, Ca so our weather is fairly mild so I figured the cold won't be an issue I can just close the window on cold nights.

It might get too much solar warming through that window. If you can orient it so that the window is not getting the sun's rays directly, you might be able to avoid turning the coop into an oven.

All the coop design searches I've done and didn't even think to search for those. Thanks for the info, I love this site. I can't wait to get into the full swing of building so I can post some pics.

Actually one side of my coop will be up against a slightly sloping hill and it would be perfect to put the window facing that hill and it wouldn't receive much direct sun light at all. Thanks for the tip
