We have a pair of pekins with our chickens and it's been challenging but worth it. Everything was easy until the drake got to be about 8 or 9 months old. That's when he started bullying our rooster who worked him over, despite being half the drake's size. The drake has also made introducing new chickens difficult, as he's a jerk. The only reason he's not in the freezer is because his girl adores him. They are inseparable and she has layed every day for the last 40 days or so. She really is an egg machine. They do consume 3x the food as a chicken and poop 3x as much, but definitely worth the hassle. They are also so cute as babies!
