consistency of new layers

My GLW is the only one laying right now. She just started laying last week. So far it looks like she is laying an egg every other day. Hopefully she will get closer to 5 eggs/week. But if not, an egg every other day is fine too as I have some sex links coming to age soon.

I am glad to know I am not the only one. This is the second thread I read about inconsistency in new layers. I have 8 pullets that are old enough to be laying and I've been getting 6 eggs a day until today. I only got 2. I was a bit worried but I checked all of them and they are fine. I guess they are just taking the day off??

If it happens again tomorrow I think I'll worry.

I have eight Golden Red hens that are just starting to lay. I got one egg Sunday, one egg Monday, none Tuesday, three Wednesday, four Thursday, and three today. The eggs were laid at all different times of the day and I'm sure they all haven't started yet. The eggs are not all small, even one of the first ones was about a large.

I have five pullets: 2 red sexlinks, 2 black sexlinks, and 1 cochin. I get, most days, 4 eggs a day. I'm not sure the cochin is laying yet but I think she is getting close.

One of my black sexlinks lays super jumbo eggs. She doesn't lay everyday, but I would estimate 5 out of 7 days. Oftentimes the chicks take Sunday's off. Now, I would like to think it was for religious purposes but it is really because the dogs are out running around on Saturday and by Sunday I think they are stressed. During the week they are in the house or dog pen so this doesn't happen.

Somedays, I only find 3 eggs. Somedays, one decides not to use the next box and instead uses the area under the roost (ickkkk) and it breaks.

Mine are 4 mos. old at this point.

Since day one, my silkie lays 2 days then takes a day off... then back to 2 days in a row. One is always before 10am and the second day is always after 2pm. Like clockwork.
