I would like to consolidate my 24 hen's & 1 rooster into 1 coup instead of the 3 coop's that I have now. They free range on an acre of land together all day so I know they know/live with each other. At night, 3 go in 1 coop, 3 go into another coop & the rest go in the other coop. I would like for them to all be in the same coop so I can use the other 2 coops for different birds. One coop I have is big enough for all of them together. These hens & rooster have been raised by me for 2 years. Any ideas?

You would need to move them at night into whichever coop you plan on using, then I would lock them in for 2-3 days if they have the room so they learn this is their new home. After a couple days they will feel like it is home. If you don't have the room than bribe them. About an hour before dusk, call you chickens with treats and spread the treats all over the coop floor, this should bring them into the coop, keep spreading the treats on the floor until all the chickens are inside. Then lock them up for the night, this will train them were to roost as they only have this one coop to settle in for the night. Do this for about a week slowly decreasing the time before dusk.
