About a week and a half ago I posted about a chicken with similar symptoms... I still have her indoors because she still seems sick, but she definitely seems a whole lot better than I found her. Yesterday, I saw my one year old barred rock/Cochin/australorp mix with her mouth open making weird noises, like my australorp I have inside now. I looked down her throat, checked all over and she seemed fine. I patted her back like you'd do if someone was choking because I had no idea what else to do at that moment. Then she stopped and was fine. Today, I heard coughing/sneezing coming from a barred rock, I'm not sure about her age, she's either almost two or seven, I can never tell which is which. I looked down her throat and checked all over and nothing seems out of the ordinary. Her eyes do look a little droopy though. I tried patting her back because it worked for my other hen yesterday but it didn't help. As I was taking her in, I heard another chicken sneezing too but her breathing was fine. So now I have the barred rock inside. Her crop is kind of squishy, but that's how all the others usually feel this early. I have no idea what could possibly be wrong with them. When I took her inside, she pooped and it was dark brown and all watery. I'm not sure is she's drinking or not, the other wouldn't drink on her own at first, so I'll be careful monitoring her to see if she's drinking. Her and my other I have inside have similar things wrong, so would it be okay to keep them together in the same cage while they recover or should they be separated? Does anyone know what could be wrong or what I should do? I'm about to go put apple cider vinegar in the water bowls outside, I heard that it helps when it seems like a disease is spreading through the flock.
