I've got this hen. Well, one of my girls is constantly laying goose sized eggs. A double yolker for sure in the one I cracked open yesterday. They do not fit in cartons (lid wont close).

She will need extra calcium, but what if an egg gets stuck? All the hens use 2 out of 9 boxes (And some in the barn, and some under the grill, and some in the garden, and some under the house). They're picky, I guess.

What should I do?

How old and what breed?
Double yolkers are not uncommon during the first month or so of laying, especially high production breeds.

Why do you think she will need extra calcium?
How are you providing calcium and what are you feeding?

Free range birds sometimes need to be 'trained'(or re-trained) to lay in the coop nests, especially new layers. Leaving them locked in the coop for 2-3 days can help 'home' them to lay in the coop nests. They can be confined to coop 24/7 for a few days to a week, or confine them at least until mid to late afternoon. You help them create a new habit and they will usually stick with it.

About 2. Auracauna. I don't normally leave calcium out, and she is laying in the box. Any eggs I don't find in the boxes, I don't.
