Hello again.
This is a continuation of my other post about my chicken named spitfire.

She won’t eat chicken feed and really only wants protein.
Today I found that she was straining to go to the bathroom. I brought her inside and felt around inside her vent but I can literally only get in there maybe half an inch. She has not laid an egg for five weeks and so I’m thinking she might be constipated.
I gave her some coconut oil as that is what I’m finding online.

I’m at a loss when it comes to her food and now she’s constipated or something else is going on. If there is an egg in there, I have no idea how long it would have been in there and I cannot feel anything.

This picture is of her after I gave her a bath and tried to feel around.

Thoughts?

My picky chickens always would eat their feed if I added water to a small amount in a pan. A spoonful of plain yogurt mixed in makes it interesting, and adds probiotics. Some hens and roosters get really constipated, and urates can solidify inside the vent. A lubricated finger with a disposable glove on is a good way to clean it out physically. Coconut oil chilled and cut into small pieces to peck can lubricate the droppings.

I bought some molasses but of course she has no interest in that. I added it to water. Is there an easy way to get chickens to consume this besides forcing it down their throat?
