So my golden comets are 3.5 weeks old and i have finally begun making thier coop. its just a 4x8x4 cube made with 3/8" plywood. i've got (3) 18x6 vents up high at the end of one long side and one 18x6 vent directly across on the other side with a 10x12 door 8 inches up from the floor. will put the doors on the other end tomorrow. i was thinking making a 36x48 inch swing out door on the other end with the nesting boxes at the door end with perhaps some kind of closable window towards that end. the roost will be somewhere towards the middle just being a four foot 2x4 going from side to side. the entire coop pitches 2" over the eight foot length. anybody see any design flaws that i might be able to remedy before it gets to far along? food and water will be in the space left over under the door at the end.

thanks,Ty

Sounds very similar to the coop I just finished. No design flaws for ME to mention.

This is one end of mine:

And this is the inside before I put down the shavings and added a second roost bar at the same height as the highest one.

The cock-eyed window in the far end is the result of my fixing one of my "cut once, measure twice" gaffes, not a design flaw. It was a construction flaw...

And here's the way it looks in my yard before I finished the exterior paint job:
