Last summer, one of our silkie hens hatched 4 of the 5 Ancona duck eggs we had set her on. She raised them up to the point they went back to our neighbors to join with the rest of their ducks (the Ancona eggs originated with them). They were absolutely adorable. Here are 2 pics of them, the first is when they were a day old, held in my son's hands. The other is when they were about 3 weeks old and hanging with their Silkie mom.

O My Word. A handful of ducklings. Cute, adorable, innocent, warm, SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.....
