These are two of our Trader Joe fertile egg chicks that our Buff Orpinton, Sugar hatched. Our two oldest grandkids, ages 7 and 9, introduced the eggs to Sugar's nest. It was a fun project for everyone.

Marigold. a Delaware chick, was sitting on my lap and decided to hop on the back of our dog Sitka.

I suppose, although when she was little and started feathering out, she would look greenish when she was out on the grass, hence the name Mrs. Green. lol

This is a picture of two of our Trader Joe chicks. My two grandkids took Trader Joe fertile eggs and placed them under Sugar, our Buff Orpington. The eggs took 28 days to hatch, one week longer. Of the 12 eggs placed under Sugar, 7 hatched!

Marigold, my little Delaware, was sitting on my knee. She then hopped on my dog Sitka's back. I couldn't believe Sitka stayed there patiently while the little chick perched on her back.
