Ended Contest #8 Funniest Chicken Picture Contest - 6th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong

This past winter in North Texas we had several different rounds of snowy weather. My chickens are not used to this. One morning I went out to check on the girls and Millie popped out and said "Again! ***!" (That would be Want To Fly in chicken language)

Hi Julie Bird! The snow has finally melted and the girls are loving every bit of it. Chickens and most birds love sunbathing. They can sunbathe just for enjoyment, to soak up vitamin D, to warm up when the temperatures are chilly, or to rid themselves from any pests since pests do not like the heat. Usually they stretch and spread their feathers so both their feathers and skin are bathed in sunlight. They were certainly loving every minute of it.

I almost forgot about this contest! Anyways, here are my pictures:

Spice, curiously peeking into a magnifying glass. I love it when they do this, it's always funny to look back at. :)

Here is Lime, my White Leghorn sitting in the nesting box and attempting to cover too many eggs. RIP little girl...

I was trying to get some good broody and chicks pics. I didn't even see that this had been taken until later. To bad I missed the caption this photo contest.
Ha! That's a good one. I wonder what she is trying to say. You should post it on the "WHAT IS MY CHICKEN THINKING?" thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/714104/what-is-this-chicken-thinking/31860#post_15097029
I went and did that just now. Thanks for the tip. Hope that doesn't disqualify it. The "what is this chicken thinking" thread didn't look like a contest. So, I hope it is ok. I hope there are some seriously funny captions. She can be quite the character sometimes.

My banty chicks kept climbing into the feeder, so, I snapped a picture before removing the top of the feeder.
Hahaha! I wish I could have got a picture of the 3 ducklings my son found stuck in a J feeder this afternoon.
These babies can be so funny. I once caught a chick with its head in the feeder snoozing, mid-meal. :gig It reminds me of when my Kiddos were babies. Their head bobbing, desperately trying to stay awake and eat one more bite of food. :lau

I get it. I think it is so cute to see them do that. I never knew they did it to get rid of pests but I like that. It is funny watching my teensy finches do it. Just like your girls. They puff up hugely, drop their wings, turn their heads and kinda pant. Thanks for your nice response, Hiyaherc.
