I have a BBS maran from Sonew hatched, NJ from CJWaldon pipped, and just had a cochin hatch from aceschix.

Before I knew much about chickens, I was about 5 years old and my mom bought a turkey poult and my aunt gave us some Silkies. Back then, I thought a rooster "fertilizing" an egg meant pooping on it. Since we used their poop as fertilizer. (remember, I was around 5). So, I hid some of the turkey eggs when we only had a hen underneath a broody Silkie. Nothing hatched. So, I stole my mom's old metal round incubator and put them in there. I had no idea about temperature and apparently set it too high and for unfertilized eggs. Next day, something had hatched all right... The stench of rotten eggs filled the air and it took weeks to get it out... lol...
