1. Working out how we are going to attach the frame.
2. How we are going to attach both frames to each other.
3. Attaching the cut wood to the frame.
4. The wood attached to the frame.
5. Attaching the other side of the frame. We aren't using the metal brackets on this side.
7. Frame assembled and fully standing. Amazingly sturdy.
8. Lining up the house to the frame. We turned the frame upside down to make the assembly way easier.
9. House and frame are now joined together!
10. These are the metal brackets we used.
Conclusion:
Not finished yet, but I still have the whole of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to work as hard as I can to finish the coop. I leave on Sunday at 8PM to go overseas for a month, so no chickens for me for another month.
But about the coop. The planning and start of it have been very slow. Measuring all the wood together and assembling just the frame, and getting the roof pieces and house pieces took a while, but to see the house fully assembled (the frame) and put onto the frame puts a smile on my face every time I look at it. I cannot wait for tomorrow and work as hard as I can with my Dad to finish the coop. Wish me all luck!!!
Note - The metal brackets that we used on the house part of the coop were actually taken off as they are going to interfere with the walls of the coop, and the house is still very sturdy and solid without the metal brackets. The wood glue we used worked so well.
Well, that is all from me. Thank you for reading!!!
