Got this idea out of Birds and Blooms magazine yesterday.
I've been freezing gallon milk jugs filled with water to lay around the yard for the chooks to chill by, just like last year.
I don't know how many folks buy any of their milk in cardboard containers anymore, but the tip suggested rinsing them, filling with water and freezing. When frozen, tear the cardboard off and place in a pan of water outside for the chickens.
My girls like to stand in one of their outside water pans to cool their feet.
