Got this idea out of Birds and Blooms magazine yesterday.
I've been freezing gallon milk jugs filled with water to lay around the yard for the chooks to chill by, just like last year.
I don't know how many folks buy any of their milk in cardboard containers anymore, but the tip suggested rinsing them, filling with water and freezing. When frozen, tear the cardboard off and place in a pan of water outside for the chickens.
My girls like to stand in one of their outside water pans to cool their feet.

If someone freezes some coffee with Abuelita chocolate and sugar mixed in, you'll find me laying out in your chicken coop.

Too hot for coffee, but if my chickens would just set up a sno-cone stand I'll be there.

That's a cute idea! Now if only we could get some heat out here...

I used to freeze 2 liter bottle (from soda) and throw them in my rabbit pen. My rabbit would stretch out along side of them to cool off. It was so cute!

I did this and put it in the coop today. I used a Knorr's chicken bullion tub, and the ice slid out really well. The chickens were pecking around at it when I left. It's 120 degrees. Don't think it will last long!
