Convert LG to homemade?

Hi, I was wondering if you all thought it might be possible to convert an LG to a homemade by using the heat element but hooking it up to an accurate thermostat in a new container? Does that even sound plausible? Thanks guys.

I can't think of any reason why not. Unless the heating element isn't big enough to heat a greatly increase space.

Hi! I converted a chest-of-drawers to an incubator and hatcher using LG elements and thermostats.
Just candled the eggs set last week and have 230 developing and going to set another 10 doz eggs this evening (I didn't intend to set that many eggs but I couldn't help myself).

I have an old LG that has temperature spikes. I've thought about just replacing the thermostat with a wafer but I haven't done it yet. Should be possible though.
