I would love to have the "storybook cottage" as a coop. I just can't justify the $200+ for it. Tried to get one of the Castles off craigslist but after looking at it really carefully, I knew there were going to be a whole lot of places my fat butt couldn't get into in one of those.

I have a "fort" that I am turning into a Bobwhite stockade, lol

I made a top door for the Dutch Door on my playhouse with old vote posters. It is really great stuff to use. it is double thick and weather proof. I made hinges from old bike inner tube, cut, doubled and screwed to the house. I love the stuff to work with. I found mine last year, behind the dumpster at my Doc. office. Here you can kind of see it in this night shot.

Update: The coop is dry and secure. Installed a light last week, and our hens started laying about 2 days later. All that hard work is finally paying off!
