Converting a shed :S Please Help!

I have a old shed In my garden, And was thinking if I could use it as a chicken coop, But I need tips from experts

Do I need a disinfectant?
Its a fithy old chicken coop, which I want to redo!!! Please help!!

Skip the disinfectant and apply a couple thick coats of paint on every interior and exterior surface. You'll be happy you did it when you get a parasite infestation (which will happen some day if you keep chickens for any length of time). Carefully check for any openings in the old building and cover any holes with hardware cloth. Make sure you have adequate ventilation.
