Hi! I'm new to this group (not new to owning chickens) and I'd like some opinions/ideas on how I could/should convert this old shed to a chicken coop (with run). I know I need to cut a couple of small 'windows' for ventilation and I'm going to cut a small door on the side/bottom for the chickens to come and go. I'm also going to level, paint it, and add roosts Any other must haves?? Your ideas are greatly appreciated.

You have it down pact well. Seeing you are in a warm climate, I would suggest making your windows larger than smaller. Also secure the openings with good hardware cloth or what ever is necessary to predator proof. The situations vary by each individual area. Remember to consider, raccoons, weasels, and snakes. Hawks are everywhere, but are only danger free range and run. Mainly free range.

WISHING YOU BEST AND

Coop is too small better to have a wider one than tall. You need more than windows for ventilation. You need vents up near the roof, to let hot air out.
