I'm converting the playset in the photo below to a coop for 4-6 chicks (I have 2 currently) and appreciate any feedback on a few things:

ROOF:
  1. Should I just plug up any hole with silicone or add to the roof? I was thinking either plastic corrugated roofing or these shingles I have.
  2. Is there enough of an overhang?
  3. The top/middle inside beam has damage from carpenter bees, etc. Can I just plug up the hole up or should I replace it/reinforce it?

VENTALATION:

I have hardware cloth on both sides of the roof (going to add lil doors for colder months/heavy rain) but should I add more? I was thinking on the side door (see below):

Thanks!!!!

Not really, especially on the gable ends and especially because of the mesh that goes right up to the roof boards surfaces. But the roof material you plan on adding might make up for that if extended far enough over the current edges.

Tho the 28 x ? space is not big enough for more than 2 birds.

The space on the inside is 28in depth X 50in height X 46 width. Still too small for 2-4 chickens?
